How to use IDEntry

IDEntry reads the barcode on the back of a customer's driver's license so you don't have to type their information. It fills in Salesforce for you and builds the police report file at the end of the day. Tap a section below to open it.

▶️ Start of each event day (do this first)
  1. Open Salesforce and log in like you always do.
  2. Go to today's Roadshow Event and tap the New RS Seller-2 button — like you're about to enter a customer.
  3. Don't type anything. Instead, tap the address bar at the top of the browser (the long web address), select it all, and Copy.
  4. Come back to IDEntry, tap Settings at the bottom, paste the address into the box under "Today's Roadshow Event", and tap Set event.
  5. You should see a green check with today's city and date. Done — you won't need to do this again until the next event day.
Also check that your name is in the Clerk name box in Settings — it goes on the police report.
📷 Scanning a customer's license
  1. Ask for the customer's driver's license and flip it to the back — the side with the long striped barcode.
  2. On the Scan screen, tap Start camera.
  3. Hold the license so the barcode fits inside the orange box. Hold still. It usually reads within a second or two.
  4. When it reads, the customer's information appears on screen. Compare it to the license — especially the address, since people move.
  5. Tap Open in Salesforce. The New RS Seller-2 page opens with the customer's info already typed in.
  6. In Salesforce: double-check everything, fill in anything missing (like the dropdowns), add the items being sold, and tap Save — just like normal.
Trouble reading the barcode? Light matters most. Turn ON the 💡 Light button if you see it, or lay the license flat on the table under good light. Hold the phone a little farther away, not closer — use the Zoom slider instead. Still stuck? Take a regular photo of the barcode with the camera app, then use Choose File below the camera to pick that photo.
📝 During the day: ticket details

The police report needs a few things the license doesn't have. When you have a moment (right after the sale is easiest):

  1. Tap Day list at the bottom.
  2. Find the customer and tap Ticket details.
  3. Fill in the Ticket #, what they sold (description and category), the DWT, and the amount paid. Tap Save.
📤 End of day: the police report (LeadsOnline)
  1. Tap Day list and make sure each customer's ticket details are filled in.
  2. Tap Export .xlsx. A file named LeadsOnline_(date) downloads to this device.
  3. Log in to LeadsOnline.com like you always do, go to Upload Data, and upload that file.
  4. Once LeadsOnline confirms the upload, come back and tap Clear this day. That removes customer information from this device — good practice, since Salesforce keeps the real records.
Can't find the downloaded file? On an iPad it's in the Files app, in the Downloads folder.
🛠️ If something looks wrong
  • A field didn't fill in Salesforce (often the dropdowns like State or Eye Color): just pick it by hand and save. Mention it to Mike so it can be fixed for next time.
  • The customer's address changed from what's on the license: type the new one over it in Salesforce, and edit it in Day list too.
  • "EXPIRED" warning in red: the license is past its expiration date — follow your normal company policy for expired IDs.
  • Scanned the same person twice? Open Day list, tap the extra one, and tap Delete.
  • App closed or iPad died? Don't worry — everything you scanned is still there when you reopen the app.
🔒 Where does customer information go?

Scans stay on this device only. Information is sent to exactly one place: your company's Salesforce, and only when you tap Open in Salesforce. Nothing is uploaded anywhere else. Clearing the day after the LeadsOnline upload removes it from this device too.

Point at the barcode on the BACK of the license

…or drag & drop an image here, or paste one (Ctrl+V)

Tip: laptop webcams usually can't focus close enough for the barcode. Snap a sharp, well-lit photo of the barcode with a phone and use it here.

Desktop test: paste raw barcode text
Clear only AFTER the LeadsOnline upload is confirmed.

Today's Roadshow Event

Once per event day: in Salesforce, open today's Roadshow Event and tap New RS Seller-2. Then copy the whole web address from the top of the browser and paste it here.

Privacy

All scanning and parsing happens on this device. License data is stored only in this browser's local storage and is sent only to your Salesforce org when you tap "Open in Salesforce". Nothing is uploaded to any other server.
